I was a little surprised that my title was knighted as AP for Newsday late last night. To be honest, I felt little like James Bond when I found out. Well, I was down on the field covering the NYSPHSAA Field Hockey Semifinals yesterday... today I will be doing the same thing for Championship day! I have my favorite Championship hat I wear, it's the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounty Police) hat. Yesterday it was my favorite team USA theme Lake Plaid one. You can't go wrong for either one. The weird thing, though, now I know that I am getting old. I remember back in the days I had the energy to be able to cover the entire day event without any problems what so ever; however, this time it was different. By the second to last game I have to admit, I was worn out. Somehow though if it wasn't for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Lady Field Hockey team chant, I would have never found my energy for the final game. I feel bad, though; because, well... they lost in the shootout against Garden City, who will be playing today's Championship day. It is weird for me to say that I am getting old; however, as long as I am staying in shape - I think I should have the energy to keep me going. I just have to think outside of the box to keep me going. If anyone has watched maybe Daniel Craigs last James Bong movie there was a big hint in the video. He is getting old, he may not have the abilities like we used to see; however, he does figure out ways to make it happen, though! It goes towards the same thing for me, I know that I am getting old as well; however, I will figure out ways to keep up with the action of coverage! Just have to think outside of the box to make it happen. So don't be surprise the latest ideas by me. I think the coverage for next year will be even better! As James Bond would say: This is 007, James Bond reporting for duty!
